I love trying drinks in each country I visit and my expertise in El Salvador was no different. The beers of El Salvador are refreshing and yummy while countries produce several of their rums and whiskeys.
During the previous few days both my driver and guide invited me to try a number of the country’s famous beers (not that they had to yank my leg to do it.)
So here are the fab 4 plus one limited edition.
This is considered to be El Salvador’s national beer because everyone drinks it, therefore it’s considered to be among the most popular beers of El Salvador Think of Budweiser in the States, Pilsener Urquell at Czech, Gallo in Guatemala and Balbao at Panama. You can find it is perfect for a day at the beach or simply hanging out with buddies and this beer everywhere you look. I really enjoy the smoothness and lightness, but notably the affordability element of this beer. Pilsener generally costs $1 at stores and $1.50-$2.50 at restaurants. After you come you must strive El Salvador’s unofficial national beer.
This is called the king of beers. It costs than Pilsener and can be served anywhere. Drinking Suprema is a luxury for most working class El Salvadorians, so there is a prestige . Because I have heard from my buddies here- women dig guys who consume Suprema.
Similar in taste to a Miller Light, Golden Light is your unofficial women’ beer. It’s light and reduces the risk of hangovers. I enjoyed this beer, although Even the most manly of men would not dare to order a Golden Light at a public place better. Pilsener is my favorite.
Amazing beer that most individuals consider to be on the lower-end. Regia is tastier than Pilsener, but it is tough to find in many restaurants. Regia is marketed in the working class, which does mingle in pubs and tourist-friendly restaurants. It comes in 40 ounce. Glass bottles and also in cans. Regia one attempted evening. Our waiter actually had to leave and find it in another pub. 20 minutes later he returned along with my petition. The 40 ounce cost me about $3.50. In stores it costs about $1.30.
*LIMITED EDITION: This really can be a limited edition beer produced around Christmas time. It is essentially a Suprema spin-off that has a taste. It is only sold to March. It costs approximately $1.40 in supermarkets, that’s the only place they’re sold.
Here is a tasting I’d in my buddies house.
